Powder materials can stick to the silo’s walls during loading and unloading. This is common with powders that have moisture or static charges. Such powders produce layers of buildup that vary in thickness.

Powdered materials form an angle of repose of generally 30° to 60° during discharge.This results in sloped, uneven, or peaked surfaces. Traditional single-point radar sends a narrow beam,it measures the distance to just one specific point.
